The OTPTF-4 poses a citation challenge because it is published in 2 different ways: as both a journal article and in book form. The first step then is to determine which format you used.

If you used the PDF available via this link: https://ajot.aota.org/article.aspx?articleid=2766507 you can cite the OTPTF-4 as a journal article. Our suggested reference looks like this:

American Occupational Therapy Association. (2020). Occupational therapy practice framework: Domain and process (4th ed.). American Journal of Occupational Therapy, 74(Suppl. 2), Article 7412410010. https://doi.org/10.5014/ajot.2020.74S2001

Note that if you look on the 2nd page of the article, you will see that the AOTA provides a citation almost identical to the one we suggest. The only difference is that we have added the word "Article" before the article number to comply with APA 7th edition rules.

Citing the OTPTF-4 in either its print or ebook form is a little more challenging. We recommend classifying it as a report by an organization (p.329, section 50 in the manual). When cited this way, the reference looks like this:

American Occupational Therapy Association. (2020). Occupational therapy practice framework; Domain and process (4th ed.).
