You can also try CQ Researcher which reviews a particular social problem or controversy every two weeks. The pro/con section of reports introduces a question for debate along with two short commentaries: one for and one against.

Another important place to look for opinion pieces is newspapers, in the Editorial or Opinion section.  In U.S. Major Dailies, a current newspaper collection, try searching for the word opinion or editorial with your topic.
