Empirical articles are articles that report the results of original research. These are almost always peer reviewed, and have sections like:

  • Introduction/abstract
  • Methods or Methodology
  • Population
  • Results
  • Conclusions

Many of our databases have empirical articles. Often adding keywords to your search like "research" or "quantitative" or "qualitative" can help you find more.

In some databases you can even select empirical study as a document type. In PsycINFO it is listed under Methodology.
